Marine Corps League Worcester Detachment #144 - PARTY!

Wow, we had such a great time on Saturday hanging out with everyone at the Marine Corps League. I can't wait to go back and play again! We had a boat load of friends (really, I mean, they came in a boat) come dance the night away! Pics have been posted on facebook...search for "Final Approach".

Some studio time for Jody!

On Sunday I spent the afternoon in a recording studio with RB Renegade. RB is working on his soon to be released CD called "Second Time Around". RB asked me to sing a duet with him called "My Yesterday". I also sang on RB's last CD, "Finding My Way". RB writes and performs traditional country music and he has an amazing story! In other news, I had a tattoo re-worked last weekend and it came out just the way I wanted it to! I highly recommend Jeanne at Tattoo 101 in Leominster if you need any ink!

Adding some new songs!

We are learning some new songs! With everyone's work and family schedules it's hard to find time to get together and learn new material - but we're trying! Here is what we've chosen to work on:

New Guitar Player!

Hi everyone!

Our guitar player, Mike, has resigned from the band due to family obligations. Mike's family is very busy and as the band gets more and more gigs he decided that he was spending too much time away from home. We're thankful that he was with us for just about 3 years :) We wish Mike the best!

Stepping into the guitar slot is Mark Andreoli. Mark played with us at The Birches in Maine for our New Year's gig and has also played with us at the Grafton American Legion. Mark is a great guitar player and we are lucky that he agreed to join Final Approach full time. You can meet Mark when we play the Hawks Nest in Whitinsville on April 24th.

We created a Facebook page and have 97 fans! Of course I think my Mom signed up about 95 times LOL :)

April 1st!

Wow, it's April 1st already! I say it all the time, but where does the time go? The band is rehearsing tonight, we're working on adding more songs - tonight's focus will be Lady Marmalade (Patti LaBelle) and Them Changes (Clapton/Winwood). I'm so excited to try Lady Marmalade...that song rocks! Johnny will be singing Them Changes and the guys are kickin' it on that song too - especially with Tom rockin' the Sax :)

Whew! It's been awhile!

Hi,

I've decided to try and keep this current for 2010. The band has been together now for 3 years! Our newest addition is Tom - he is playing the sax for us and we're glad to have him :)

We have more gigs than ever this year and are hoping to really grow our local following. This Saturday 4/3 we're in Upton MA at the Rose Garden. Friday 4/9 we'll be in Shirley MA at The Phoenix Bar & Grill.

We have a gig tonight at The Phoenix in Shirley. It's a great place, we play there every six weeks or so. I'm looking forward to singing!

Final Approach - Going to Maine again!

I am beyond excited, the band is heading back up to The Birches Resort on Moosehead Lake in Rockwood Maine for another weekend gig. The people at The Birches are so nice - the lake and surrounding area are beautiful. I'm taking an extra 2 days to just hang out and have a mini vacation. The band is really looking forward to seeing all the friends we made in March!! I'll update the blog after the gig.

We have been booked to perform 2 nights at The Birches in Rockwood, ME on March 13 & 14th. I am really excited to take this trip with the guys in the band. I know we are going to have a blast! From what we've been told we should have a good crowd.

8/11/09 - I should have updated this sooner. We had such a blast in Maine! The Birches rocks and so do the people. I was really sick and didn't get to party much, but we met some great people, most notably some very cute ice-fishermen!! Hey Bud!

We're going back to Maine in August and for New Years!!!!
